lock nuts

when you take rear hubs off do you really have to fit new nylon lock nuts?.....

I just heat my nuts with a blowtorch to reflow the nylon.

Didn't realise you have a plastic fetish.... :-)

I wear nothing but a nylon jockstrap ... ;-p

None of the cars with rear brake drums that my ex-MOT tester neighbour services on his drive have nylon lock nuts.

what exactly are you referring to ?.

If you mean removing the entire hub and bearing assembly then the bolts used for those generally rely on threadlock compound plus the correct torque. Such bolts these days tend to have torx or inverse torx heads.

Surely brake drums get way too hot for nylon. Or is this a ride-on mower?
