Laminate Flooring Expansion Gap

What part are you having trouble with in understanding the phrase..'expansion gap'?

Take it up the skirting boards in a curve, as you will see in commercial kitchens, vets and medical places. The expansion and contraction over the years will be absorbed by the curve at the join of the floor/skirting board.=20

Not sure what you mean there - can you expound ? It sounds to me like this involves bending laminate flooring ! If there's a technique out there, I want to know it ! Cheers, Simon.

I didn't understand it, either. When I did mine, I just left a, roughly, 10mm gap on all edges. Also, I covered the gap with Wickes wooden strip, by far the cheapest. A small pot of Homebase/Focus water-based varnish (I used the 'beech' colour) made it look like it had come from the factory. Secured with brass panel pins, great job! Floors-To-Go for the laminate.
