Karcher and other washers

I have an elderly Karcher with lots of fittings and extras.

I would like to upgrade to a more powerful/later model but still be able to use my extras. Am I restricted to another Karcher or will any of the cheaper brands around now connect with my fittings? Some seem nothing like the same but others are close. Other than going round testing them would anyone know which are compatible?

How elderly is the Karcher? They did change their coupling system but it was a long time age. My guess is that they are Karcher specific. Its a captive market, they have you by the proverbials and they really screw it to you.

I don't mind that, I love my Karcher and if it died I'd get another without question.

I don't know the answer, but you've got two possible options.

The first is to find a machine which uses the same type of bayonet fitting to attach the accessories to the flexible hose/trigger.

The second is to find a machine which has the same sort of attachment for the flexible hose at the machine end. You could then use your Karcher hose and all its accessories with the new machine.

Take your flexibale hose with you when you go looking for a machine. You will then be able to check for both of these options.

Be aware that some of the cheaper machines have only one nozzle, which is an integral part of the flexible hose, so that you cannot fit other attachments.
