Modern gas piping is polyethylene and is hydrogen compatible. I don't know anything about David Yapp, but a lot of modern "experts" seem to build audiences by telling people what they want to hear.
AIUI, the problem with green hydrogen is that we don't have it, or any economical way of producing it.
The main use of green hydrogen would be long term energy store, but even then it would be more efficient to use it to generate electricity (and use domestic heat pumps), rather than pipe it to properties.
