I usually DIY but currently have a man in. I thought it would be easier and less stressful, Never again.Anyway we were quoted £600 for a job which he estimated would take 2-3 days. Tomorrow will be day 6 and I would be extremely surprised if it was finished.So i'm looking forward to the awkward moment when payment is discussed, he might honour the original price but I doubt it.What would you do under the circumstances?

Was the £600 an estimate or a quotation?If it was a quotation, which you accepted, then that's all you shouldpay.In fact, if the job takes an excessive time, I should be looking for abit of compensation from him :-)

Todays highlight was damaging the the ceramic sink making the tap hole! :~/

Well he has ordered a new one, given that I was willing to pay a bit more I have offered to pay for half of it and he has honoured his original price.

Progress has been better since, we are now only a sink / cooker hood and a bit of plastering short of a kitchen.
