Issue with petrol mower

Our qualcast petrol mowers as an issue the roller is going round when not in
drive mode, have no control over the mower , any suggestions?

maybe the clutch cable has come off.

Does the clutch lever on the handle feel to be pulling as normal (ie normal tension of spring)? That's often a good guide as to whether the cable has broken or come off. Our old Qualcast had a lever next the roller which was moved a few mm sideways by the cable to disengage the clutch. If you can find something similar, check whether it moves when the handle is pulled.
