I need a cunning plan

For the last week I have been woken up by a car blasting its horn as it passes my house at around 6am. Now on Friday night I stopped at the girlfriends. At 6am on Saturday morning I was woken up by a car blasting its horn as it passed her house! Coincidence. I doubted it. A quick look on my CCTV shows the same car that blasts it horn when it passes my house not blasting its horn on Saturday morning (probably because my van was not there but parked outside the girlfriends house) and because I have good audio on the CCTV I can hear it blast the horn as it passes the girlfiend house two streets away (the timing is perfect for this to be correct). I think I know who is doing this. My first thought was a DIY spike strip. Any other suggestions are welcome.

Two is enough to be really aggravating. I believe an easy, non obvious, way to let tyres down is to put two bits of match stick into the valve and loosely put the cap back on. Though anyone with any nous will spot the bits when they come to pump 'em back up. Of course it is obviously a deliberate action and if happening fairly often pretty annoying. How long would it take to pump up 4 tyres with a footpump, maybe that 6 AM beep would be a less annoying 7 AM beep...

If you have a valve removal tool...

A little wadge of paper foil shoved inside the valve cap is quieter and effective in an hour or so- so I have found out to my cost!

At that time of day it is an offence anyway.

Personally, if I was in a position where a quick blast could avert something nasty, rather than announce my annoyance, I think I would go ahead anyway.

Use mung beans, then you can claim it was green activists, who favour that method.

Not very effective on diesel vehicles. The pressure in the exhaust pipe will build up until the fuel there detonates. Assuming the exhaust is sound, that will usually result in the blockage being shot out. Otherwise, it can still start, but may be noisier.

One neighbour did ask me about the noise. Thought it might be to do with me going to work. Her ex also gave the same guy a good kicking.

Apparently, a can of filler foam placed under the bonnet allows the vehicle to start and drive for a while before it overheats and explosively deposits its contents within the engine compartment. ;)
