How to stabilise corner of wall

I am currently creating a walk-in wardrobe, in one corner where 2 walls meet after scraping the old wallpaper off it looks like there is no wooden stud corner in the partition (this was part of the previous owners conversions) it is not a crucial part of the structure but I dont fancy ripping out that section and putting in a stud, the corner is reasonably solid with just a slight give but I am sure there is no stud there at least on one of the corner walls. I was thinking of just hammering in some wooden wedges to tighten it, then tape it, then skim it. When this project is completed the wall would be shielded with racks for hanging clothes or shelving (still working on the layout) but pretty much hidden.

Can anyone think of any potential problems in doing this, more from a cosmetic or structural issue.
