How much for a loo !

A friend of mine is a maker and installer of stone panelling to kitchens, bathrooms etc. I won't call him a mason but he does work with stone. He produces some amazing stuff. Talking with him last week. He had recently supplied the stone for a 28 sq.m. bathroom. Floors, walls and ceiling totally clad. He showed me some photos. The bog installed is one of these:

The bath cost ?34k, the two basins ?7k each (exc taps & fittings). Cost of bathroom refurb- slightly S of ?300k. This same room was last refurbed less than two years ago at a cost of ?1/4M.

Damned lunacy in my opinion. Talk about flushing money down the pan!

Looks about as attractive as something you'd find in a caravan.

And I thought my customers were overdoing it by having a 28m2 ensuite!

Good grief, man! You can't call it a "bog" or a "loo" if it costs *that* much money. There ought to be some fancy-sounding French term more fitting for something this expensive.

For that kind of money it should also get your knob out for you.

Something stinks about this toilet. In the blurb it states that they've sold 30 million of these things! That equates to sales of 342 *billion* pounds - and it's not the only product they make! A company with that kind of turnover I'd expect to be a household name, but I've never heard of this outfit. I smell bullshit.

Toto (the toilet manufacturer, not the rock band :-) are 'big in Japan', literally, as well as across Asia, for their 'bog standard' products, but in the West they only sell the luxury ones.

We had those in two of the hotels we stayed in in China last year.

They'll wash your backside when you're finished, and dry it too. A sensation I couldn't quite get used to...
