Hoover "Softwave" Washing Machine Heating Element

I am trying to figure out how to replace the element in Hoover washing machine and seem at a loss to figure out how it is done apart from putting a tin opener up one side of the washer. any suggestions ? Thanks

Some softwaves are different than others, but the main principle is the same, you need to remove the front.

All machines, need unplugging first of all, then the plastic ring around the door seal needs removing (prising) then the door seal needs to be folded inwards. Next, you need to remove the door interlock which is fastened by two screws holding the striker plate in place. Be careful at this point, because the nuts on the back of the interlock need to be kept secure as they will fall into the machine and you might lose them.

Next, remove three screws located under the main front panel of the machine, they are screwed upwards, and they hold the front onto the body of the machine. Some machines will allow you access to the front now by just dropping the front down and pulling it away. Others you will have to take off the lid by removing the two screws at the side and sliding it backwards, then loosen the front bezel with the two screws on top and two hidden behind the soap drawer. with the bezel on one side, you should be able to get access to the two screws that are holding the front panel on from the top.

Hope this helps.
