I am happy to lose it. Just tried to get some blank DVDs locally and discovered that no one has them in stock anymore.

Poundland has them in small quantities. And skinny cases.
Never had much luck with the cheapest DVD blanks and I needed dual layer too.
Well buy 'em online.
The OP did not mention where the car was kept. When I was in the UAE I used to keep am bottle of water bought from a shop, in the boot for emergency use. Fortunately I never had to use it.
