What does the jury consider to be the best granular loft insulation ?
We have a long sloping roof above the front bedroom that I assumed was insulated, turns out it's not, I need to find a nice granular insulation I can pour down the eves, seems my choices are cork granules, exfoliated vermiculite, mineral wool or cellulose fibre, which is the best, and where can I get some ?

Can you stop it falling out at the other end? Granular tends to blow about a bit.
I would suggest checking the ventilation requirements and arrangements first. If you end up blocking that, there can be unfortunate consequences for the timbers.
Yes, the other end stops at the soffit and have not long replaced them. I guess that begs the question, how small are the granules ?

Could you use cut to width rolls of insulation or rockwool bats and feed down to just short of the soffitt?
Wouldn't blow around or pile up on the soffitt/fascia and cause damp like granular might

Must be about 12' long and about 4" high.
I did think about that tho, it would take ages and involve a lot of messing about !
The "alpine" bit of the roof represents about a 1/8th of the total roof space, I am not worried about it blowing about, not sure about damp tho, how small are the granular lumps ?
