Yes there is a screen grab button but it doesn't do anything I understand. I'll have another look tomorrow.

I suspect this is Google being difficult because I don't log in to their site. I get an initial overlay on the search results saying something about *before you continue... which then disappears before I have time to read it.

The solution is to avoid using Google:-)

It should be copying the current screen to the 'clipboard' for you to then be able to paste it 'somewhere'.

Or you could press the 'PrintScreen' key (nothing will appear to happen there either) but if you then open up a graphics program, like Irfanview and select 'Paste' from the Edit menu, a snapshot of your screen as was should appear (that you could then highlight just what you need and crop(selection) the rest, save, post to

Better then 'Print Screen' is the Snipping Tool. Look for Snipping Tool or Snip and Sketch in the full list of programs that appears when you click the start button, bottom left. These tools let you select an area of the screen to copy, then you can either save the copy as a graphics file (a jpg that any graphics program can open) or you can just go 'edit, copy', then the image is on the clip board so you can drop it into Word (or any program, more or less).

Firefox has a pretty neat inbuilt screenshot tool. And it's reader mode is much easier (and better) than Chromes.

IIRC, Tim is still a Win7 user, not Win10 ?

The thing is, I treat GUI based OS's as just that so don't actually use many key-combos.

I do sometimes make use of a few of the basics, if there is no GUI option / functionality (like if GUI copy / paste isn't enabled), Ctrl+C to break CLI stuff that has locked up or is going to take a long time or Alt+Backspace to undo deletions (I think) in Sketchup.

That's partly why I often tend towards the more generic advice, something that would work here on this old XP machine or a W10.
