There used to be an Araldite especially for glass and ceramics. Is it no longer made? I can't seem to find any. The boxes for both Araldite rapid and Araldite precision (whatever that means) both say they can be used on ceramics. Was Araldite glass and ceramics markedly different to these formulations?

Dunno, but Glassbond seems to be preferred for glass nowadays, since it doesn't set until exposed to UV.
I see a reviewer on Amazon complaining like hell because it didn't set
- guess who didn't read the instructions !

Well, when one of the kids chipped my wife's prized pressed-glass plate I was able to repair it with glassbond by painstakingly collecting the flakes of glass and glueing them in the correct order. The repair is just about invisible.
I think it's also what the British Museum used to re-assemble the Portland vase.
Aha - and there was me thinking they'd used portland cement. :-)
