Hi,Wondered if anyone is into electronics as I need a small, cheap 12v timer that I can use on the my car, as basically, as its going to sit between the ignition and glow plug relay. As soon as ignition turns on - the glow plugs will start - and will turn off based on the time I set the timer for - say 15 secondsAny ideas? on where i can get one. Looked at maplins but could not find anything suitable.This is a home made modificiation, currently have a slightly modified manual setup that I got with the car but want to automate it with a timer.Scott

Sounds like a simple "monostable" - look up circuits for the ubiquitous"555" integrated circuit and you will probably be overwhelmed by thechoice.HTHMungo

There is an interesting site at Quasar Electronics which you may care to look at. Lots of tosh but also some useful ideas.
