generic or trade name for waterproof sheet joining?

For joining sheets of material together, that can be easily made and unmade and when made can resist a few feet of water pressure, if the sheet material is backed by sturdy solid flat material. The active joint is , in cross section, P and C, or sort of ball and cup sliced across. These extruded sections on the edge of a strip that can be bonded to the sheet meaterial. Probably molder/extruded silicone rubber so the rod of the P section can be slid into the C section. So there is enough "grab" between the sections. Ordinary rubber woould require dressing with talcum powder or some such and would probaly bind-up partly along anyway. Slide action rather than push fit is likely. As distinct from waterproof zips .


The structure ,in cross section, is like the junction of 2 pieces of jigsaw, tang and recess. You can't/don't slide the pieces along the table to join them, matter of lift and overlap. I picked up some silicone bakeware by aldl, in a charity shop. This type of junction for joining lengths of silicone sheet together to make any shape of cake mould surround. Pulling rather than pushing one section into the other is about constant 0.6Kg of force over 6cm of these pieces, perhaps similar over metres of such silicone rubber joints. But somewhere I've seen it as some sort of tape ,metres long, for whaterproof joining of sheet material.

Google images returned many product pics of multiple extrusion profiles, thousands in all, plenty of P section but no "C" section. For c section got fixated on the medical procedure. Google Lens all sub heading selections including AI got nowhere, getting fixated on the colour green of these bake ware samples I photo'd. Perhaps I'll B&W the pic and resubmit. In all that , never once picked up on the Aldl bakeware product I'd photo'd

Googling the B&W version, the same. Contacted a UK supplier of P-section in case they did C. He said why not axially cut some hollow P into a C section, so simple. So he's sending a sample to gauge the sliding insertion force , head of water retention, whether the core of the P needs reinforcing with some rod material , etc
