No idea for that length of time, but a full discharge is recommended to fix a bug in battery status reporting, where the amount of battery left is seriously under reported.

Provided you didn't try to turn the Garmin on before connecting the charger, you would have got one of two possible scenarios. It would charge the battery and be usable, or it would not charge the battery. If it now turns on using battery power it shouldn't have shortened the battery life. Hopefully, this is what you discover.

If it doesn't turn on using battery power then the battery is now dud (the same as turning it on with a fully discharged battery would probably have caused) and you need to replace it.

There are youtube videos for most of the Garmin models, so hopefully you can find one for your particular device. The video will explain how to get to the battery to replace it. Once you can see your battery you can read the battery number and know what replacement to order.

Possibly. ;-). I think that’s the best anyone can say. Simple answer is to just use it and see how it fares. If you’re planning on setting a record on the Col de Tourmalet it t might be worth investing in a new battery but otherwise I wouldn’t bother. ;-)

I'd say its pretty likely to be damaged - the battery. Expect short charge times, erratic behaviour from low voltage, and low capacity.

Probably worth taking it to a mobile phone repair shop and let them unglue it and replace the battery. Probably around £50-£60 all in.

This is looking promising. It has fully charged (over a reasonable period of time). It is now starting up under its own power. All that remains is to test the bike and its rider.
