Garden Slate

Hi All,

Deos anyone have any opinions or objetions to typical 20mm crushed garden slate being laid on top of an existing hard standing area.

I know it will probably move around a little more than if it were laid on a compacted surface etc, but will it sit fairly still and "work"?

I have a small terrace garden which is currently a mix-match of patio paving, concrete etc and I would like to cover this in slate without having to dig it all out!

Thanks

How well will it drain? Would it be possible to pull up some of the more easily removed slabs to aid drainage?

The drainage will be no worse than it is presently as it is already patio and concrete?!

Any clever ideas as to what i could lay on top of the present surface to aid "bonding" and fricton to stop my slate scree sliding around?

Cheers

It will only adhere long term to dry surfaces, though.
