Fridge/Freezer

Apr 25, 2012 1 Replies

Samsung RS20 side by side model about 7 years old recently started dripping water on the floor and the compressor was running almost continuously and it was frozen up around the bottom of the freezer apartment.

Called the appointed Samsung service agents and they fitted a new sensor that they said controlled the heater that did the de-icing. After that, the water dripping stopped but the compressor continues to run 85%-90% of the time.

It maintains the temperatures OK at -18 and +5 for the respective apartments.

Can anyone offer a diagnosis and recommended course of action.

Thanks

Yvonne

Check that the doors are closing correctly and don't get paranoid about the compressor running a lot. It may not be. Try putting your hand on the compressor. If it is really hot, then oh dear! Don't buy another frost free.
