"flood proof" fitted carpets?

Question

For low lying houses, liable to flooding. Instead of rugs that can easily be rolled up prior to a flood, is there something like large velcro 2 part edgings under fitted carpet, instead of the sort of "fit once" spikey metal plates?

Back in my youth fitted carpets often had rings sewn in strategic points on the underside which were hooked over nails or screws driven into the floorboards. A friend had it done to his carpets about 40 years ago but it came at a price.

ok for florboards.For solid floors, perhaps double sided carpet tape. I often use that tape for all sorts of purposes, , because the glue/gum seems to be very strong, but have never used it for sticking carpet.

Alternatively get some washable industrial style carpel like Flotex?Then you can just leave it down then give it a clean with a wet/dry vacuum cleaner.CheersDave R

Unfortunately there is a chance of overloaded sewer system and sewage contamination with the floodwater. I'm not sure smell, health-risk etc of sewage contamination is washable from such carpets. Placing 2 pairs of wellies under wooden table legs and rolling up carpets , rug or "fixed" , and placing on the table is probably the best option.
