It really depends on the nature of the shower. If the shower has multiple heads it will need a *lot* of water throughput to avoid it being very disappointing. Large flow rate combis are available but tend to be physically large.

One clue is to look at the flow rate requirement of the shower at shower temperature of 40 degrees.

Generally, combi boilers have a flow rate specified in litres per minute for a 35 degree rise in temperature. In the winter, the mains cold water can be as low as 5 degrees so basically the combi would be flat out feeding the shower. Clearly if the shower needs 25 litres per minute to run properly, an 11 litre per minute combi is not going to do the job.

Also, this does not account for running anything else like a bath or second shower at the same time.

I've looked at steam rooms a little and they appear to have an electric heating unit installed outside the shower which is fed with small amounts of cold water from the mains. This is not really impacted by the combi arrangement.

Sorry for sounding so negative the first time around - its a state of=20 mind with me :-}

To be honest, i`m surprised that any reputable company would have allowed= =20 the sale to go through without first asking what are very pertinent=20 questions - they might even be able to wriggle out of it depending on=20 what was asked by your friends and said by the vendor !
