Electrics, insulation, plasterboard....

And I did answer your question regarding the 2.5mmT&E.

BTW you can pretty much do what you want with the lighting circuit if using 1.5mm T&E and a 6A MCB. Especially with a known low load using LEDs.

I had a few of those, probably 3-4 months back. The first one was a Bournemouth number, then they changed to being my local exchange. They usually hung up when I replied to the question "how are you today" with "Suspicious", but one did hang on. I couldn't work out if he was having problems hearing me, or if he was (potentially terminally) stupid. He said that he was calling regarding the loft insulation that I'd had installed under a government grant, and that they needed to make an appointment to inspect it. I pointed out that I hadn't had any installed under any scheme, but he was persistent that they needed to inspect my non-existent insulation. In the end he rang off, and I think that was the last time they called.

Many thanks.

I was thinking of a situation where I clipped the cable to studs in a stud wall, with rockwool insulation between studs.

Yes, thank you.

I have found 100m or 1mm T&E. I have also found some round flex, maybe

30m, also 1mm. I wonder if I could use up the T&E with LEDs, which they will be. I will have to go to another place and see if I have some 2.5mm lying around, it would be good to use up some old stuff.

The whole house is on a 30mA RCD. It's been like that for a long time.

An existing workshop is riun off a 16A mcb. It would be good to go from that workshop, at the closest end to the supply, because getting another connection bck to the CU will be a massive PITA, unlss I run it along the side of the house, which will look urgh.

1mm T&E will be fine for the lights.

I would not use flex.
