double door / fire door

We are putting a 762mm double door into the kitchen (like a narrow french door, not a bifold door). At some point we may convert the loft and would need a fire door into the kitchen. Has anyone seen or heard of a door like this that is a fire door? In theory it should be perfectly possible to put an intumescent strip between the two leaves and include a thick enough door stop in the middle of the door, but are such things available ? Simon.

Appear to be. I have just moved into new offices which have 'hospital doors' (ie normal width + half width) with a fire strip between.

In public buildings I've seen them as double doors (no centre stop/ post/mullion), doors overlap each other by about 25mm (at half- thickness), and use a device similar to a door-closer to ensure the slave door fully closes first, before the master door (which overlaps the slave) can fully close. In such settings, the doors are often held open on magnetic catches, and released by the fire alarm.
