door security

I think what I'm looking for is an "anti jemmy strip" i.e. something to prevent an outwards opening door from being attacked with a crowbar.

I'm thinking a 2" flat strip bolted to the opening door, and covering the joint, would do, but I was hoping to find a company who specialises in security fittings. Google's not revealing too much so far.

Thanks for any advice

Take a look at these:

You may also need hinge bolts as the knuckles of the hinges will be outside and therefore more vulnerable than normal.

Are you a dealer then? :-)

I did look at those but they only seem to supply the trade. I was hoping there might be something I could pick up in the sheds

No, but my son has a fairly decent bike he'd rather like to hang on to. The previous one was pinched from a lock-up garage round the corner from the house. I think these kids carry bolt cutters down their trousers- there's certainly enough room

Not sheds, but I'm sure I bought some locally. BM, locksmith?

Find a proper locksmith and discuss it. It is their job to know the ways to defeat thieves and they can often suggest something you haven't thought of. Ideally, it should be something that doesn't shout to the world that this door is protecting something valuable.
