Cutting kitchen worktop

Hi GroupYour knowledge is sought on the subject of best practice for cuttingkitchen worktops. Previous attempts have resulted in damage to thesurface and anything but a straight cut. First what kind of saw shouldI be using and what are your tips for a good finish.ThanksGraham

Thanks to everyone for their advise particularly Set Square. I did use the circular saw, with a TCT blade with 40 teeth, I screwed a lat to act as a guide and I tape as sugested. The result was perfect so again a big thanks to all. Now please help with the cupboards I did not get mounted (see new topic).
