Conservatory roof panel - slipped

Had the DG people around today after cold draughts last month. Turned out one of the roof panels had slid down about an inch. A bit difficult to get back so there were two of them today but they slid it back and pinned it somehow in about 30 mins. We'll see what that does to airtightness and watertightness.

Interesting though it is (I'm sure), this is to do with d-i-y how?

You got some people in to fix something for you and you don't know how they actually did it?

Does this work a little like green house glass where little z shaped hooks on the lower panels hold the next one and so on so if the bottom one breaks they all slide down? Brian

Yes it would be nice to know how they did it, would it not. Perhaps they blindfold the owners so they can keep it a secret! Brian

I expect they did it the way they said they were going to: one lifted while the other one pushed.

No.

It's one DG panel from the ridge line all the way down. The panels sit between joists which have stoppers screwed onto them at the bottom end; these hold the panels in place. In this case, the stopper was missing, probably due to the great difficulty of applying one just there: there's a box gutter and the house wall so a really short screwdriver would be needed. It's a very awkward space.

Whoosh.

The re-alignment process would have been pretty obvious, it would be the 'pinning' that *might* have been interesting.

Silicone?
