Condensation in the house

In message , Dave Liquorice writes

We have a lean-to conservatory which always suffers dripping condensation when the weather turns cold. It's generally a good 5"C warmer than outside. We open the windows first thing in the morning but the dripping continues for quite some time. Suggestions? I think a dehumidifier would fail to deal with the problem and would be a waste anyway.

I have heard it suggested that fitting a fine mesh net to the underside of the roof can help. I think the idea is that once the moisture has condensed out, there is a layer of warm dry air trapped next to the glass.

A fascinating idea. Until I get around to fitting multiwall I'll give it a go. Thanks.

Or is it to catch the drips and take them via capillary action to the bottom edge and suitable collection?

I'll bear that possibility in mind with a gentle slant, (it'll follow the roof, duh), and the possible need for guttering or some such.
