Chucking isn't neat ;-)

It's the bit that all the water into the machine touches --- that's why it stays damp & grows black mould if you don't clean it regularly.

He means that the part that allows the water into the drawer will be black with mould.

If it's being washed off, it'll clean it. It it isn't being washed off, then there's no problem. And remember how many times the machine fills up during a cycle. There will be none on the clothes when it's finished.

In our machine the mould collects in the folds in the door seal. These do not get washed (enough) to clear out mould.

Then the mould won't get washed into the clothes!

No. But it's possible for the mould to be deposited on the clothes when they are removed from the machine.

From inside the folds? You'd have to do that on purpose. Anyway, do you think mould is deadly?
