Cleaning roof tiles

It was coax with the outer sheath stripped that we tried but it didn't seem to do much.

I think that has a lot to do with it, this instance was on a north facing roof slope in the west of Scotland with dismal temperatures and lots of rainfall so perfect conditions for moss growth. In this area lawns need moss killed and fed twice a year to have any hope of maintaining blades over sponge, shaded areas are beyond hope.

I'm not sure if location makes all that much difference. I'm just west of London. If anything, mosswise, the surface of my roof which faces south-southwest is most productive. The lawn (a hellish mixture of clay, flint and the occasional brick or two) would much prefer to grow moss than grass (but it's a different sort of moss).
