I want to put a cement plinth at the base of an external wall to repair and cover up unsightly brick work. When I look at examples I wonder how the plinth is laid and what the mix is made of.
1) Do I use 1:3 portland cement/sand
2) How do you get the smooth finish and upper edging - do you use a straight edge or just a hand spreader with skill...
I know this is probably something that takes lots of practice to perfect, but any advice appreciated.
