the newer EN model, which seems to have the advantage of also generating an alarm if it detects a lower concentration of CO (50ppm) which lasts more than 60 minutes.

I wonder how real the 5 year life is? A significant problem with CO detectors is how easily they are wrecked by other common contaminants, which in the past has meant lives much less than 5 years for any degree of accuracy.
