I thought he preferred shoes from a non-renewable source, one that takes
6kg+ of oil for every kg of plastic.
Leather is certainly more green with environmentally renewable credentials.
It all depends on whether you want to foist veganism onto everyone or be kind to the environment.

By 'you thought' you mean 'I don't know so I'll make something up that tries to denigrate the spirit of his goals because I feel guilty about mine'?
What compared with *every* alternative? Tanning is good for the environment is it? Raising animals for their skins are good for the environment is it?
Let me rephrase that one for you as well. 'It depends if you are against people foisting their views on innocent and sentient animals'.
See, I don't do that and so that makes you feel very guilty and so are then 'obliged' to spout any level of lies and BS to try to justify your position (which you could never do of course).
You admitted yourself that you do ineffective things like signing petitions when you have the direct power to improve the lives of many animals every year by not killing and eating / using them right now.
And of course, for you (highly biased / left brained / black and white) POV, those two things are mutually exclusive?
"Necessity is the mother of invention" so if we stop breeding artificially, keeping unnaturally, feeding unnaturally and killing inhumanely, or exploiting them for their excretions or skins, many many animals every year won't have to suffer and die.
I am part of that direction by doing my best to seek out and only buy / consume those things that *haven't* contributed to animal exploitation and suffering.
"Veganism is a way of living which seeks to exclude, as far as is possible and practicable, all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose."
And what you propose is something else and you think that is in some way 'better' (or even acceptable, in 2021)?
Oh, and I'm still waiting for an apology to the outright lie about me having a egg-culture flu jab when I've *STILL* never had one (a flue jab) in my life.

Was I right, that you preferred plastic shoes from a non-renewable source, or do you wear leather shoes?
I suspect less non-renewable resources are used for a leather pair of shoes.
So fishing is ok in your book.
Given animals don't understand the concept of consent, or even death, the time when they're alive is the bit that counts.
If it was ineffective to sign a petition I wouldn't have signed it. Just because you DGAS about animal welfare by refusing to sign such a petition. I would go further and say you endorse the practice over a normal feeding regime.
No, that's my point. There was no need to resort to abuse when the concept gives you great cognitive dissonance.
Death is inevitable, improvements in animal welfare aren't. You could support the latter, but your choice is to do nothing for animal welfare.
Likewise, I would like to do more to improve animal welfare. You don't when it comes to the crunch as exampled here.
Is that admission you can eat meat and meat products if they were reared and slaughtered humanely. I thought veganism went further than that?
Is it? I have no idea what you're trying to say.
No, but you acceded that egg production be acceptable if it prevented flu. So I'm not sure who should be apologising for what?
T

Completely irrelevant to the point. You *accused* me, in public of being a bad vegan or whatever *because* I had the flu jab.
And even if I had:
"Veganism is a way of living which seeks to exclude, as far as is possible and practicable, all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose."
So any accusations of my being 'a bad vegan' are bollox and again it's just you desperately to find any ad holmium, any angle to denigrate a cause that I am passionate about and your only interest is to try to paint that as bad and your continuing to cause pain, distress, suffering and death as justifiable using more BS justification and distraction as being acceptable when it's obvious to anyone who
*actually* cared about animal welfare, is not.
There is no good / right way to do a bad thing and causing an animal
*unnecessary* pain, suffering, exploitation and death [1] IS a bad thing in most people books.
I'll spell it out for you in terms that even you should be able to understand and not squirm out of.
You *stated* and more than once that I had *HAD* a flu jab and therefore ... <some other lying BS>.
Given I have NEVER (in my entire life), had a flu jab, I can therefore never have had one based on eggs.
So, you lied, your statement was false and you should apologise.
Except, in spite of stating, in public that you would always apologise when you were wrong (and you blatantly are in this case), you won't.
You will squirm and twist and dig and deny, you won't actually 1) apologise and 2) learn from what you did and that it was wrong (libelous even) and 3) that you might learn from such mistakes and not do them again?
You won't do any because being honest, fair or kind isn't in your remit or MO, you 'like' eating meat and drinking the milk of another species, denying it to it's own offspring' and so you will do anything you can to defend your ability (or 'right' in your eyes, because it isn't actually illegal and you consider it ethically and morally 'ok') to continue to do so, whilst simultaneously ignoring their real death and suffering, trying to portray the victim and spreading lies and FUD about me, to try to offset your own deceit, hypocrisy and obvious guilt.
Cheers, T i m
[1] The problem is not HOW we slaughter animals, it's THAT we do so.

Thanks all for the warnings! I mostly leave car jobs up to my mate these days.

You seemed willing to have a flu jab made from chicken eggs.
I apologise if this is not the case, in which case I will then call you a liar.
No need for the apology, just in case you had.
So when I reduce my meat consumption but at levels to replenish my B12 reserves, that makes me a vegan?
It that your way to justify your refusal to campaign for improve animal welfare?
Suffering, certainly, so why not campaign for improvement in animal welfare?
Death is inevitable for livestock. Death is only bad if done inhumanely.
You seemed willing to have a flu jab made from chicken eggs.
I apologise if this is not the case, in which case I will then call you a liar.
Then why endorse egg production for the purpose of flu jabs?
I criticised you for endorsing egg production for the making of vaccines.
Given the amount of time that has elapsed with a discussion over egg production and the flu vaccine, and your lies about owning a dog, I have no idea whether to accept whether you've had a flu jab or if you haven't.
You have a habit of choosing the facts at the time to suit your argument.
Again, cite the posts I've libelled you. Libellous suggests loss of face or reputation. Given your fanatic posts I can't see what loss you have suffered, even if my posts did contain an error.
So like every other meat eater then.
Sorry if man has the genes to specifically digest milk in adulthood, thus proving drinking milk is perfectly natural as part of a deficient free wholesome diet.
It is the problem. Another problem is you can't accept another viewpoint that is different to yours.
T

Once again, you are simply disgusting re how low you will stoop to demonstrate in public just how much of a lying two-faced coward you really are.
You didn't accuse me of thinking of having the jab, you accused me of
*actually* having it.
<therefore snip the test of the troll lies unread>

No, I would have had my non egg-cultured flu *jab* in England Jim. ;-)
So, it is a 'jab' in the arm so where does 'jag' come from? The Scotts getting it wrong again?

I wasn't entertaining any lowering of the head. I'm not the one who claims they are interested in animal welfare but in reality DGAS.
Show your true colours by refusing to sign this petition.

And demonstrated by this comment, "The problem is not HOW we slaughter animals". You see, when it comes to animal welfare, some of us think this is highly important. You don't.
AKA more facts you can't reply to without showing your lunacy.
If you had read the post, you might even have learnt something.

Jim GM4DHJ ...
jag is more accurate and descriptive ...just like hertzs and c/s
T

In Scotts properly? How is it accurate and descriptive though, what does it mean?
'A Jab' is also a boxing term for a fast quick straight punch.
'A Jag' is the short form of Jaguar car.
Hertz is no more or less descriptive than volts, amps, farads, ohms and I assume you are happy with those? Or would you prefer they were also long winded, like 'cycles per second' or 'potential difference'?

Collins GEM English Dictionary jag¹ n. sharp or ragged projection; Informal injection. ?jagged [jag-gid] adj. jag² n. spree or drinking bout.
Jag certainly sounds more suitable for Glasgow. ;-)

I've never heard the word 'jagged' abbreviated to 'jag' though (or ragged to rag?), outside of some Scott talking about how they refer to an injection 'up there'? ;-)
It does indeed. ;-)
I wonder how many South of the wall that aren't of Scottish heritage use the term 'jag' for an injection though?
