Can't find 1800x900 9.5mm TE plasterboard

Having planned how to lower my kitchen ceiling by 6" I went out to buy some of the above plasterboard, with total failure. I am sure it exists - the manfacturers list it, and so do Travis Perkins on their web site. Travis Perkins searched for me, and found some about 50 miles away.

Any suggestions where to try, not too far from Slough?

Mine doesn't, and it's quite a big one.

Where is yours?

Funnily enough I was in mine last night making a note of exactly what plasterboard they had. I was looking at 12.5mm, but I noticed they had a lot more variety in 9.5, including 1800x900.

That's in Cambridge.

Thanks for the info. Did you notice whether it was TE or SE?

I will be going to Cambridge soon to visit my daughter, who is studying there, and if I can't get it locally I could get it there. You have confirmed B&Q do it. I was sure I saw some in my local branch last year. Maybe I should bite the bullet and queue up at B&Q customer services to ask.

Wickes sell 'wallboard' in that size

Described as;

"High quality plasterboards which can be used for ceilings wall linings and partition. They have an ivory paper face which is ideally suited to receive a plaster finish or for direct decoration".

That any good?

It is recommended that you use 12.5 on ceilings and 9.5 for walls and studs,which is why you will find more 1800x900x12.5 as it is used more for ceilings

I had a look in Wickes, and they have only got the square edge variety. As my plastering skills are a bit iffy I was hoping to use joint tape and joint compound to get flat joints where possible. I have done this with SE but it is a lot more work.

An alternative was to use 2700x1200 TE, as the kitchen is just over 2400 wide, but I didn't fancy manipulating sheets this size in a smallish kitchen. I can't find any this size either.

Thanks for the reply anyway.
