Hi all,I want to knock through an internal wall to make a new doorway,and (ideally) what I'm looking for is a ready made doorframe ordoor/frame unit which will support 3 floor beams above it.The reason for this is that I haven't got a wall on one side tosit a cross-beam on. I have considered making a filtch beam whichcan cantilever over the doorframe and support the beams above,however, I still feel that there may be some slight movement orcreaking.I have done a (fixed width font) ascii drawing below, toillustrate the problem. As you can see, there is no means ofsupport on the left hand side. We have parts of our house held up with vertical 4x3's. The Strutrial Engineer designed it all. Looks a bit flimsey to me, but its still up there 3 years after it went up.

You can certanly do what you want, if you are doing building regs you need it designed
