Bubble wrap/gel pouches ?

SWMBO is still recovering from a nasty ulcer and is now into negative pressure wound therapy. AKA a pump that goes off every so often to help healing.

Trying to sleep with it, the noise isn't too bad. But the vibration ...

It's about 5cm square and would fit into some sort of gel pouch nicely. If such a thing existed.

As usual my google-foo is only telling me about isotonic drinks, or silica gel pouches. Neither of which is remotely close to what I picture.

Was wondering if there's a special name ?

I've already made one design improvement by ensuring the air tubes can't become accidentally disconnected. Something the fitting nurse said has been a problem for years. On the basis I would imagine most posters here would have done something similar, I do wonder WTF medical tech is so expensive. It's clearly not going on design.

No quite sure what you’re after but wine bottle chillers (the kind you keep in the freezer) are filled with a heavy gel that might have the damping properties that you’re looking for.

Just an example.

A different approach: I know they are expensive, but the ResMed CPAP air pumps for Sleep Apnoea are amazingly quiet, at least mine is. A colleague in the US had a pump, and it sat there making the expected chug-chug-chug noises, most annoying. But that was some years ago.

Suspend it from the ceiling or overhanging pole on some string or sling.

You say it's not the noise but vibration but are you sure that its not what you are placing it on acting as a sounding board? Don't place it directly on a hard surface.

Maybe wrist or ankle weights? Or a boxing glove?

You can also get gel ice packs that are roughly the same material, but in different form factors - either for picnics or injuries:

But that’s positive pressure. It’s suction that’s required. I would have thought that one of those old fashioned spinny disk aquarium pumps would be ideal. Sadly they seem to be antiques now.

It could be re-configured so that the inlet is used instead of the output. But it would still be an expensive solution, no question.

Not the way to go. Build a box out of kingspan foam with hot glue. Line it with lead for mass

Low production runs and specialised requirements of sterility etc.

For vibration. glue it to a foam rubber sponge, or similar and stick lead on it
