Boiler V wall cabinets

My son had a small problem with the gas boiler in his house. The firm that installed it and subsequently serviced it is no longer around so he found someone new. They fixed it at reasonable cost but commented that it was "wrongly installed". This apparently is due to the close proximity of the wall cabinets. The fact is that there were no wall cabinets when the boiler was installed, I fitted them for him afterwards. Can anyone confirm how close wall cabinets can be to a gas wall boiler? The boiler in question is a condensing combi about 2.5 years old and can be seen in this picture, but not very well.

As far as I can tell from 2000 regultions there is no restriction whatsoever: clearances apply to flues and that's 25mm to 'any combustible material'.

Is that a Baxi Duo-Tec or Platinum? Best check the manufacturers guidelines :)

These will have been specified in the installation manual. The clearance will vary from model to model.

And for many manufacturers, you can find the full installation manual on the web. There should be a plate inside it somewhere identifying the exact model.

This was probably a guestimate of 'wrong', based on difficulty getting to parts of the boiler that should be accessible such as cover screws. Check the manufacturer's installation guidance.

model here if you can't find them online). Usually however the clearance requires to the sides is very small - often 5mm or so. More required above and below for access.
