Boiler problems cannot be sorted by Vokera - What next?

I have had a problem with my new boiler that when it fires up initially in the morning it either locks out or makes a bang as the gas valve takes a long time to open. It has been changed but still the problem persists.

Vokera engineers have been out 4 times so far and another visit is due tomorrow but if it cannot be fixed, can they do something or do i still need to call them out like every other day? They just cannot seem to fix the problem.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm sure Andy, or some other seasoned campaigner, will tell you what your legal position is. I would have thought a replacement fitted by an authorised Vokera installer should be a starting point. Having to stay in all day for 4 days waiting for their engineers is another issue.

Strikes me they are not scratching where its itching. From the description I'd go straight for checking out the the ignition and the gas rate settings and finding out why the ignition is so rough.

Have they checked the supply pressure at the meter?. It could be that when the gas valve opens and we have full demand, then either the gas service pressure drops unacceptably, the meter regulator fails to operate correctly or the meter may be sticking. All can be confirmed by the engineer.

A Vokera engineer finally turned up again yesterday. Finally he did not mess around and brought some parts from his van. He changed the PCB, the ignition board, the gas valve and the ignition lead to the combustion chamber.

As all has been changed from the source to the end product, I am hopeful this time around.

That's not a solving a problem it's overwhelming it. 8-) At least Vokera were paying for the kit. 8-)
