Block laying rate

?????? ar e you kidding me? I can do 350 blocks 9" work a day with a decent labourer. That's stopping at 10, 1 and 3. If I didn't stop I reckon I could push for 450. The guy I laboured for whilst doing my apprenticeship worked on Tesco sites and could do 2 thousand bricks a day up to cladding rail with 4 labourers. So you might as well take what you think about quantity and throw it out th e window.

A few months ago I layed a 140 block wall 15 blocks long 6m by sixteen cour ses and a half split 3.3m high did not even use a profile (straight edge) b uilt corners started at 7:00am complete by 12:00pm double sided face I left the back side of the wall from scaffolding up to be pointed up from the sh it kickers this was only me laying no other bricky helping that's 255 block s by lunch needless to say I then went home yeah 18 year's experience on th e trowel

Way off, I lay 250 a day on straight work with no labourer, quite comfortably

We must be spoilt on the south coast, i can get £17 a metre all day long on concrete blocks, £28 metre laid flat.

Not sure what this is about, but very many years ago, our local village clubbed together to build it's own village hall, for the most part using volunteer labour. I remember apologising to the guy supervising the operation (who was a builder by trade), for my slow rate of block-laying. He said the accepted rate in the industry was 5 blocks per hour, and that I wasn't doing badly at all!
