Baxi Wm38/3RS Room Thermostat

Mar 24, 2013 5 Replies

I inherited a BAXI when I moved house.

It is connected to a 3-port motorised valve (activated when the Central Heating comes on),

a Hot Water cylinder, a pump, and a timer control (POTTERTON EP20000) with seperate CH and HW switches.

My problem is that we have no wiring diagram and I want to add a wireless Room Thermostat to the system.

Currently there are no room thermostats!

Can anyone help?

All the typical wiring schemes can be found here:

If you can tell us which Baxi it is, we may be able to direct you to a manual for it...

However in simple terms, its likely that there will be a pair of stat contacts in the boiler that will currently be linked with a short bit of wire. To add a stat you would normally remove the link and wire the stat between these contacts. Wiring a wireless stat is the same etc that its the stat receiver that connected to the the contacts.

This may help. It has some wiring information about thermostats for this boiler.

Note the "boiler thermostat" is not the one you are interested in, that comes later in the instructions.

Huh?

(we are reading this on usenet, not a web forum)
