Attaching Vinyl lattice to block wall

Feb 23, 2016 2 Replies

I wish to add a vinyl lattice fencing to my concrete block wall to add priv acy. My sheets are 4/8. What is the best way to fasten? To give maximum hei ght and to intrude as minimally as possible into the block. However it must be firm and permanent. Thanks to anyone for their feedback.

I'll leave others to cover fixings although I would use plastic plugs and stainless wood screws possibly with a stainless washer under the head to spread the load.

Are you planning to grow climbing plants? If so you need a space between the lattice and the wall. I have used a variety of home made spacers... short lengths of blue poly pipe, 15mm copper tube, 20mm plastic conduit,

1/2" galvanised water barrel.....

Do you want to attach the lattice *on top* of the block wall, or *to its face* ?

If the latter, I agree with Tim Lamb. If the former, you will need to attach posts to the wall, and fix the lattice between.
