Hello, another pointless question.
What would be the drawbacks of having a roof made from "slates" of aluminium, so individual panels of appropriately thick (I've no idea how thick but I've been told that a slate tile is about an eighth of an inch thick, so lets go with that) aluminium cut to 10 inches by 20 inches or whatever.
I'm guessing they'd be a lot lighter, and would requite aluminium nails, but other than that, would they last as long as slate beofre maintenance? say every 50 years?
Thanks.
