air in the system?

hello all, i have a combi boiler (condensing) installed a while ago now. i have trouble with water not coming out of my cold water tap on the bath. if i turn on the basin cold water tap then sometimes it will work but sometimes it doesnt with or without the basin tap running.... does this mean i have air in the system and i need to drain the whole system in my house? i have a three bed. if i do need to is it an easy process and wot steps do i need to take to prevent air entering when i fill the system again.

plsssss help

Where are the taps fed from? Tank, Mains, Well?

Why would you need to involve the boiler if you are having problems on the cold water feed?

Sounds like your bathroom cold water comes from a header tank?

Are the bath taps separate or a mixer? If separate, try clamping a bit of hose between them and turn both on fully. The hot water will be mains pressure being from a combi, and should push the air back up the cold pipe into the tank, where it will disperse. If a mixer, try covering the outlet with a strong plastic bag and do the same.

Once the air is gone, it shouldn't come back. It happens because a low pressure system - from a loft tank - doesn't have enough pressure to force it out. Draining the system probably won't help.

hello and thanx for your reply,

i dont think i have a header tank as it is a combi boiler, therefore both tanks are not needed so i presume there isnt one. combi boilers are high pressure systems, right? do u think would still expell air by placing a plastic bag over the outlet? i have mixer taps by the way.
