Is the the septic smell from an improperly installed drain trap dangerous to your health?

I have been working in an office for over 6 years and have developed "motion sickness" type migraines. My mental acuity is waning and I cannot concentrate. I am always nauseous and have heartburn as well. The odor is not there all the time but I believe it may have affected my health. My office is directly above the area of the basement where the washing machine is installed and this septic issue has been there since its inception. I just found out from the building manager that its my bosses washing machine that is causing the issue - that the drain trap was not installed properly and that its been causing a septic smell all along. Now I'm wondering if this odor or the gases from the odor could have affected my health.

Sure, constantly ingesting methane is not a good nor healthy thing and has nothing to do with smell, it and other gases don't smell. Put in a Workers Compensation Claim and, hopefully, get diagnosed and relieved from the area and office entirely until your symptoms recede.

- The Building Manager had a chance to very easily address it and neglected to do so. Therefore, it now also becomes a lawsuit and health standard violation of the Building Owner. A full inspection of the entire building must be performed to determine if your symptoms are only from that source or contributed to by poor furnace venting or other conditions affecting everyone.
