Nailing M & T joints

Split the pins from some nice hardwood scrap, much classier than steel nails. Typically, you'd use pins (drawpins) to tighten the M&T, not reinforce it.

Any comments on Woodworking at Home DVD Magazine?

I just received a post card offer to subscribe but hadn't heard of it before. According to the web site, www.woodworkingathome.com, their fifth issue is about to be "published." A subscription is $33.95 per year. Any comments about whether it's worth the money?

Freeman Pinner from Woodcraft

Absolutely adequate but with a pinner you will find that a greater range in pins is handy. My Grex came with an assortment of pins, probably 8 sizes between 3/8" to 1-3/16" I use them all but have purchased replacements for the 1/2" and 3/4" pins.

DOS based CD-Writer software ?

Johnny, Frustratingly the DC7600 / SFF manual refers to an option cable to add a second serial port, which looks to be just a 9 pin D type and bracket to a 'dual row of pins' header socket.

Spraypainting without a mask

I worked in a shop when I was young and I spray painted silver paint. There was a fog of paint in the shop which drove everyone else out while I continued to paint. I suppose it was a good thing the welder quit working also or we would have had an inferno.

Mortise and Tenon Rialings

I am going to shop around for a local shop, but here in Las Vegas, not a lot of that going on. In Cedar City, where the cabin is, possibly, but I usually go up there on weekends, and they close from siesta time Friday till Monday morning. Anyone want to do some work? Steve

extension cord for 230 volt air conditioner??

me too my old 240 volt 18K BTU window unit. big sucker:) at the time of purchase I had to rewire to support the unit which I used in my shop.
