I have just had my c1940s watch repaired at "The Little Yellow Shop" in Clerkenwell Rd probably about the last repairer left in EC1.
That's what the local body shop say too, but more like £400-£450. Not prepared to spend that sort of dosh on things cosmetic
I bought one of those about 50 years ago, here the UK, in the local tool shop. I have two or three more now.
Car accessory shop high temp epoxy is hopeless even at 70C. NT
That's why there is a "special" process, and not just any auto body shop can work on aluminum body autos (Jaguar, Aston-Martin etc)
And the shop will have and hopefully use the proper tool to do the job and save the settings when the battery is changed. . .
