He's a bachelor, builds banjo's for a living, and his shop and house are all under the same commercial building roof on the same slab.

walls in basement shop - concrete, wood, etc?

I am (slowly) starting to put together a basement shop. The basement is completely unfinished and the shop is going to be a long project. I am curious as to what others with basement shops do with their walls.

22 volt power to shop ?most used plug?

Is the new sub-panel in the area that will be your shop? If so, I think you are finished for now. There is no reason an inspector would require the installation of a 220v circuit to approve the job. Later you will want to locate 220v outlets near the equipment.

220 Question

I am thinking about my new shop and making sure I have the power like Michael B. saw. I can bare with the lack of outlets and space in the garage I am in now, But I will not have a lack of power and space in my new shop if I do my home work now instead of rushing the week before.

Used tools

I went pro and started a shop which was very successful. I retired from it and am would like to put a shop in my basement. Does any one know of any used tool lists or newsgroups to buy or trade tools? Thanks max

respirator question

I built a table with a peg hole top and tubes inside then hooked it to my shop vac (outside) and I have little to know problem with saw dust. I do also keep a fan on to move the air through my shop. Maybe it would work for you.

Probably, the local pawn shop always has a fine selection of power tools, quite a few have marks where company imprints have been ground away, all the shop requires is a name and address on their paperwork when they buy stuff in, who's name and address doesn't matter.....

Dust Collector Specifications

I moved and buil a 2ksqft shop in the basement. which is significantly larger than th garage shop I had before. I'm not sure I have to and I'm certainl looking forward to spending the money but I don't know the ratings o my current DC -- Bill Sanders
