Restore a 60 year old Egg Tempera Painting

Can't you make or mix your own using eggs, I saw someone do this on the Repair shop, it does take a bit of skill obviously but if you;re an artist it shouldn;t be too difficult to get a reasonable result. Perhaps you can look through some episodes to find similar restores.

Two eBay purchases gone wrong in a week

think the problem is more the shop not scanning the label on receipt and then you never get a collection code because tracking shows it delivered...then ebay, not the seller give you a 'complimentary' refund as they call it....then eventually the shop find the parcel and give it ...

Storewall?

My sister uses it in her shop, very solid panels. Don't know if the "shop" accessory range will be any good to you, but I guess garden centres and diy stores use some of it to store tools. Google Slat board ... loads of results e.g. http://www.crowndisplay.co.uk/?

A trick to starting up a Laptop

Friend took a new Toshiba laptop back to the shop that just wouldn't start up after coming on a few times previously. The shop staff pressed the on/off button *simultaneously* with the volume button, and it started up first time.

SWMBO gloat

Hey 'mano, you need a refrigerator & television for the shop. Sometimes when I am making cabinets, pounding nails, I hit my dados de manos with the hammer. It hurts. So then I stick my hand in the refrigerator and watch Barney on the TV for a while.

Woodsmith and its sister mags, Shop Notes and Workbench are also quite popular. Good projects and ideas for newbies and vets alike. Woodsmith and Shop Notes have no ads _at all_! Woodworkers Journal, now published by Rockler or at least affiliated with them somehow, is good too.

Codepath, Where is your shop located in Seattle? I mean, is it in a garage, out-building, or basement? Mine's in my heated basement in the North end - LFP to be specific.

Delta/Powermatic Contractor saw vs Grizzly 1023

The only thing negative I have seen is with the shop fox fence on the higher end (z model) machines. Supposedly it doesn't always lock square to the blade. My advice is to stay with the shop fox "classic" fence. It is a Biesemeyer clone and solid as a rock. Montyhp

Three great low$$ planers & some expensive ones

Your figures make a little sense for a production shop. For the home hobbyist, it just proves you are an, well, you don't have a clue. My professional time is billed much higher than the $35 you talk about, but in my wood shop, it is $0 per hour.
