Blowing in the Wind

It has to do with the opposite problem of how much cold does an apple tree need to produce blossoms the next year. They do need a certain amount of chilling to produce fruit. This will vary with the variety of apple and possible other factors. ...

How to get rid of the wax on apples?

They may not taste as good as other apple varieties, but AFAIK red delicious skins contain a far greater concentration of the antioxidant flavonoid named quercetin, than does any other variety of apple. This is also true of red onions with respect to yellow/white varieties.

apple wood stump

My neighbour finally dug the apple stump out of the ground. This is about 2ft in diameter and weighs about 160 lb. I've heard several ways to dry out the burled wood without cracking, but I've never tried one before. Has anyone ever done a dry out on a stump burl without it cracking?
