Cork sheet.

A very big pin-board from those fancy goods stores that sell touch-lamps, picture frames, wally dugs and rubberwood bread bins. You may even be lucky enough to get one that includes some Free Drawing Pins. Owain

How long can you keep scammers on the phone?

Where there's room to have the bins, having food waste and landfill collected one week, alternating with food waste + garden waste + recycling the following week is perfectly adequate.

Yodel "deliveery"

There was no one in, so the driver dumped the box on top of a pile of garbage beside refuse bins in full view of the road and photographed it in situ. They claim tha counts as delivered. I won't use them again if that is the standard of service.

repair zipper on favorite fleece jacket or convert to buttons?

The jacket is in good enough shape that I will either do as you suggest, if I'm not able to fix it, or there are two clothing bins nearby always looking for unwanted clothing and I could place it in one of those.

Roses and "snowball" plants

There are many books and Web sites about, e.g. pruning roses. (Note: severity of pruning depends on your locality. I am in a mild Mediterranean climate, but the first few years I pruned too severely because the library book I used apparently referred to harsher Eastern US climate.)
