OT - power outages; where are they reported?

Important sites have more than one generator as one just isn't reliable enough. Maybe it was just offices?

Loads of sites extremely slow today. Zen ADSL2+ service is normally very good but virtually every site is crawling along at dial-up speeds today...

House prices in the 50's

Re-develop brown field sites, that sort of thing. Houses on stilts over estuaries. Colonise the slag-heaps.

Plumbing size for 2 metre long galvanised farm water trough?

The ones I found on agri supplier sites said 10mm drain bung, but I assumed you'd be talking about the inlet for the ball-valve?
